I’m officially 55 days out from my trip to Paris. This trip has been rescheduled three times, so I’m crossing my fingers and knocking on wood that this time’s the charm.

Before any trip, I’m heavily into the research of what I want to experience, no matter wherever I’m traveling to. This is part of the fun for me. For this trip in particular I’ve relied on two sources to help me create an itinerary that’s unique for me and my fellow travelers.

The first is the Earful Tower podcast. Hosted by an Australian and his Swedish wife who live in Paris with their cute toddler it’s packed full of great tips, interviews, and quirky finds. It’s been fun to listen in on their adventures, while Covid kept me grounded in 2020 and 2021. The show transports me to Paris in all the right ways. I highly recommend it. If you’re not into podcasts they have a blog site, a YouTube channel, and a burgeoning tour business. Did I also mention they write children’s books? They are serious entrepreneurs, who happen to love Paris, and know a great deal about it.

I’m also using the book Don’t Be a Tourist in Paris The Messy Nessy Chic Guide, by Vanessa Grall. I’ve earmarked about a dozen things that looked interesting from her book and then I worked to narrow it down. If you’re looking for things that are off the beaten path, this book has it.

My trips usually have a theme around them. This one is the “elements” tour. I’ll be focusing on water, fire, earth, and air. I’ve also dug deep and focused on some new experiences and places I haven’t been or visited. If you’re intrigued about how this will manifest itself into a trip, follow along in October. I’ll be posting on IG and sharing my discoveries and adventures.

For now, it’s back to the research and putting together a trip that satisfies my curiosity and fills the senses.
