#Bagels Not #Croissants

I should be getting on a plane to Paris tonight. I will not be.

What happens when life gets in the way of a trip that you’ve been planning for three years and it gets derailed twice due to Covid and the third time due to a family member being ill?

You change your plans.

You take a deep breath. You realize that the priorities are being close (ish) for your family and that you still get to spend time with your daughter and that no matter where you head it will be amazing.

So, in a matter of 24 hours, we rebooked and reworked our two-week trip into a five-day trip to, wait for it,  Montreal.

Luckily for me I’ve had several friends who’ve been sending tips and ideas left and right. So, when we realized that it’s bagels, not croissants, in this city, we signed up for a bagel-making class and a 6-hour, yes I said six-hour, spa experience on a boat in the middle of the St. Lawrence River. Hey, if you rebooked your trip three times, and recreated a trip in 24 hours, you would sign up for this, too.

I hope you tag along on this quick trip over the border–added bonus, I’ll still be practicing my French. Who knows, I could be renaming this blog – Montreal is calling.
